Sacha Inchi, Peru’s super nut.

It is very similar to a peanut and can be eaten as it is or in the form of oil. The oil is like a magic potion for the body, and it´s considered one of the world’s most powerful super foods because of its high levels of antioxidants and essential fats. One tablespoon daily in your cereal or salad is enough to get all the healthy fat the body needs to stay healthy.

Recently discovered, scientists say Sacha Inchi lowers blood pressure; it´s also very good to strengthen the immune system, has enormous amounts of vitamins A and E, helps lower cholesterol levels, and is good for the digestive system, for the brain, and for the bones.

Adding it to salads or shakes is a great idea, just be careful because it has a very strong peanut flavor that sometimes is overpowering, and some even describe as fish-like. Try it in small amounts in cakes, brownies and cookies, to give a nice and healthy touch, or eat them covered in chocolate as a mid afternoon pick-me-up.
